Since I got my bachelor degree in mechanical engineering back in 1986 I have been working in the building industry, partly in the construction industry and partly as a consulting engineer. After nearly 30 years I have left this competitive business behind to go see the world, to free my mind a bit, and do some serious daydreaming in my Geländewagen. My hair is turning grey, - but now I get to do what I have been working so hard for. I have made several sacrifices to get where I´m at, so I will thoroughly enjoy this.

After a plus 20-something-year pause I took up photography seriously again back in 2008. Replacing my old bellowed two analog Konica film SLR houses and the three prime lenses, with a digital Canon EOS 30D camera and a rapidly growing collection of Canon zoom and prime lenses, speedlites, extenders and more. The 30D and my film Konicas has been passed down to my daughter several years ago and replaced by full frame cameras and a collection of different Canon L-lenses.

During my teen years, back in the old days of celluloid film and developed b/w paper photos, I had my own private darkroom next to the oil tank and boiler in my mothers house, developing both b/w paper, film and celluloid, making lots of experiments. Most of my work showed nature and landscapes; already as a kid I loved being outdoors mostly spending time watching wildlife in the woods and fishing in a nearby lake from our small wooden dinghy.

These days, in the age of digital photography, my darkroom is primarily Adobe Lightroom which I absolutely love and occasionally Adobe Photoshop, Photomatrix Pro, Adobe Premiere and LR-Timelapse.

My main photography interest is the landscapes in desolated places. I love roaming around where few other people go, for my photography travels I prefer the wast interior of Iceland and the Western Sahara. Nearly three quaters of my photos have been shoot with a wide-angel lens.

My curiosity and drive to know and learn more have made me venture into 360 degrees panoramic photography and also time-lapse photography. But still-photography will forever be my biggest interest I guess. I almost never do b/w-photos, we live in a colorful world and I think that the frozen moments I frame should reflect that also. I like to pay attention to details; if I find it in my heart that I would like to do something I will jump all in, there’s no such thing as half-commitment in my book.
