Borgholm in Sweden is a magnificent place with a great history. Sweden and Denmark is smack packed with very beautiful castles scattered allover. I love the long slim isle of Ĝland, just of the east-coast from Calmar, Sweden. I've been here on numerous occasion since I discovered the island together with my mom and dad, as a very young kid. We were on a summer-holiday, camping in a small cozy tent driving around in our original beetle. Today I can still, in every way, hear, smell and sense the comfort I took inside the tent, myself and my older brother tugged away in our sleeping-bags, listening to the sound of the campsite slowly going silent, and the warm blanket of vocals from my father and mother having a conversion with lowered voices, as not to disturb our sleep. Sadly my dad got feed up with his life so many years ago, - I feel my dads presence strongest when I'm outside in nature and on camping-holidays. Maybe this is also partly a reason for my return, - here I have memories of my father being in a happy place.

I'm pretty sure my affection and love for camping was founded during evenings like these on this island. Ĝland is a very lovely place, and I have tried to present this place, being so close to home, to as many people as possible - my friends, my extended family, my kids, girlfriends and even just to myself. I find comfort returning to this place in times of doubt and discomfort - it calms my soul a bit, and I can talk with her confidentially like with and old best friend. We have history, - this island and I.

Today I have visited it once more, and I'm certain this will not be the last time. I'm happy that on this occasion I was not alone.
