Today was a pretty hot day, we were now in the dune area in eastern Morocco close to the border to Algeria. In order to go further west we had to negotiate a big cluster of dunes with no obvious track or route, - so we had to do a lot of scouting.
The absence of any resent traffic here meant that we had to use the try and error method. Al things worked out though and after finishing an unexpected river crossing we had some progress again. In the process of looking for a descent spot to cross the river I managed to get pretty stuck, because I was not looking where I was driving, which is not a good idea, and hit a depression in the terrain. Kens winch was not functioning, so I had to get myself unstuck. After engaging all three diff-locks I finally after some attempts managed to get back up on level ground again. Never look in another bearing than where your vehicle is heading in this type of terrain, it can have fatal consequences.
